Common Questions

How long does countertop installation take?
Most kitchens take 1-2 days for install after templating. Including templating-to-fabrication time, expect 5-10 days from quote to finished install for quartz/granite. Laminate is faster (2-3 days total).
Do I need to remove my old countertop first?
We handle removal as part of the install. Old counter is unsealed, disconnected from plumbing (by our licensed plumber), removed, and disposed of. We also handle backsplash repair if removal damages it.
How much do countertops cost in Toronto?
Laminate averages $35/sqft installed. Quartz averages $70-$130/sqft. Granite averages $80-$140/sqft. Marble ranges $120-$250/sqft. A standard 10x10 kitchen (about 40 sqft of counter) ranges $1,400 (laminate) to $10,000 (premium marble).
Quartz or granite — which is better?
Quartz if you want no maintenance, modern look, consistent pattern. Granite if you want natural stone uniqueness, heat resistance, and don't mind sealing every 1-2 years. Both are excellent for daily kitchen use.
Do you handle the plumbing reconnection?
Yes — our Ontario-licensed plumber reconnects sink, faucet, and dishwasher drains as part of the install. No separate plumber needed. If you want to swap to a new sink or faucet at the same time, we install those too.
Do you template before or after cabinets are installed?
Always after. Templating before cabinets means the measurements won't match the actual finished cabinet positions. We template once cabinets are level and secured.
Can you match my existing backsplash?
Yes — if removing a counter damages the backsplash, we repair or replace as part of the project. For full kitchen reno, we coordinate countertop and backsplash install. See our backsplash installation page.
Do quartz countertops need sealing?
No — this is one of quartz's biggest advantages. The engineered stone is non-porous, so no sealing is required ever. Just clean with mild soap and water.
How do I prepare for installation day?
Clear the counter completely the night before. Remove anything stored under the sink. We'll handle the rest. Water is shut off for 2-4 hours during install.
Do you do bathroom vanity tops?
