Why TV Mounting Is Worth Hiring Out

The Wall Matters More Than the TV

Most TVs come with a generic mounting kit. Most walls don't match what's in that kit. Wrong anchors = TV on the floor.

Stud Detection First

We find the wall studs and mount into solid wood whenever possible — the strongest and safest method. Hollow drywall anchors are a fallback, not a default.

Right Anchors for the Wall

Drywall needs heavy-duty toggles or snap-toggles. Concrete needs hammer-drill + Tapcons or sleeve anchors. Brick needs masonry bits + plastic plugs. Wrong anchor = TV falls.

Cable Management

Cables routed through a paintable in-wall channel (most popular) or hidden along baseboards. Looks clean, no dangling wires.

Levelled & Centred

We use a torpedo level on the bracket and tape-measure to centre. Most DIY mounts are subtly tilted — we fix that on site.

Articulating & Tilt Mounts

Fixed, tilt, swivel, full-motion (extension arm). We install your specific bracket type and test the range of motion before declaring done.

Test Weight Capacity

After mounting, we test the bracket by pulling on it. If it doesn’t feel rock-solid, we redo it. Better to find a weak anchor on day 1 than month 6.

TV Mounting Services

Mounting Every Wall Type

Different walls need different tools and techniques. Here’s what we handle.

Drywall with Studs

Most common. We find studs with magnetic finder + finishing nail confirmation, lag bolts directly into wood. Strongest mount type. ~$150, ~45-60 min.

Drywall, No Stud

When studs don’t line up with bracket holes — we use snap-toggle anchors rated for 100+ lbs each. ~$150-$170. 60-75 min.

Concrete Wall (Condos)

Common in downtown Toronto condos. Rotary hammer drill + Tapcons or sleeve anchors. ~$180-$220, 75-90 min. See our condo page.

Brick & Stone

Masonry bit + plastic plugs + lag bolts. Drill into mortar joints when possible (easier to repair if you ever remove). ~$180-$220.

Soundbar / Subwoofer

Mount soundbar above or below TV. Cable routing kept clean. Add to TV mount visit for best value.

Mount Above Fireplace

Special considerations — heat from fireplace can damage TV. We check clearances and may suggest a tilt mount to angle screen away from heat. Honest assessment included.

Painting FAQ

Common Questions

How long does TV mounting take?
Standard drywall mount: 45-60 minutes. Concrete wall: 75-90 minutes. With cable management hidden in wall: add 15-20 minutes. Multi-TV visits add ~45 min per additional TV.
Do I need to provide the mount?
Yes — we recommend buying a quality bracket like SANUS, Kanto, or Echogear. Avoid generic mounts under $30 — they often have undersized hardware. We can also source a mount for you (15% handling fee).
Can you mount a TV on a concrete condo wall?
Yes — this is one of our specialties. Concrete walls are common in downtown Toronto condos. We bring a rotary hammer drill, masonry bits, and proper Tapcon/sleeve anchors. ~$180-$220 typical.
Will you hide the cables in the wall?
Yes. Most common solution: paintable in-wall cable channel from TV down to media console. We can also do an in-wall recessed outlet if there's a power source nearby. For complex routes (across rooms, through floors), quoted custom.
Can you mount above a fireplace?
Yes — with caveats. Heat from a fireplace can damage TVs. We recommend tilt mounts to angle the screen down and away from heat. For gas fireplaces with high heat output, we may suggest mounting elsewhere. Honest assessment on-site.
What if the TV bracket holes don't match my wall studs?
Common problem. We use heavy-duty wall anchors (snap-toggles rated 100+ lbs each) when studs don't align. The mount feels just as solid as a stud-mounted one. Wall anchors are not weaker — just different technique.
Can you mount on a slanted wall or ceiling?
Yes — we can install ceiling mounts and angled brackets for vaulted ceilings or kitchen/garage scenarios. Slightly higher cost due to specialty hardware.
Do you uninstall and re-mount when I move?
Yes. Removal: ~$120-$150 (includes patching the anchor holes). Re-installation at new location billed as standard mount. Bundle both for best value.
Will you connect my TV to the wall power and components?
We mount the TV and hide the cables. Plugging into your existing components (cable box, soundbar, streaming devices, gaming) is included. Setting up smart-TV apps and Wi-Fi is also covered. We don't do new electrical outlets.
What if my TV falls?
It won’t — we guarantee our installation. If anything we installed fails within 2 years, we come back at no charge and cover any TV damage from our workmanship. Our ★★★★★ Five-Star Reviews on Google reflects that we’ve never had a TV fall.
