Common Questions

Can you work overnight and on weekends?
Yes — standard for retail work. Most renovations done overnight (10 PM-6 AM) or on closure days (Sundays for many retailers, Mondays for others). Mall locations often have restricted work hours we coordinate within. Cost can be slightly higher for after-hours work but worth it to keep your doors open.
Can you do multi-location brand rollouts?
Yes — standardized refresh or rebuild across multiple locations to current brand standards. Single point of contact (project manager) for the entire portfolio, consistent quality, scheduled phasing across locations. References available for chain retail work.
Do you handle landlord COI and approvals?
Yes — same-day Certificate of Insurance naming your business and landlord/property management as additional insured. Landlord approval submissions (drawings, materials list, COI, contractor list, work schedule) handled by us as part of the project.
Can you keep part of the store open during renovation?
Often yes — we phase the work into zones. While one zone is under construction (dust-walled off), the other zone stays open for business. Coordination is everything — we’ll plan the phasing during scoping.
What about mall location restrictions?
Most malls restrict work to overnight hours (after mall close, before morning open). Some require contractor badging, security escort, specific delivery routes. We’ve worked in Yorkdale, Eaton Centre, Square One, Fairview, Vaughan Mills — we know the drills.
How quickly can you complete a retail refresh?
Cosmetic refresh: 1-2 weeks after-hours. Light renovation (fixtures + paint + flooring): 3-4 weeks. Full fit-out from bare unit: 8-16 weeks depending on scope. Aggressive timelines possible — we’ll let you know what’s realistic.
Do you do signage installation?
Signage is a specialty sub-trade — we coordinate with licensed sign installers (illuminated signs require electrical sub-trade and city permits). You still get one invoice from us — we manage the sign vendor.
Can you do retail-to-retail conversions (e.g., one brand taking over another)?
Yes — very common. Demo previous brand fixtures and signage, install new brand identity per brand standards. Often done in 4-8 weeks depending on scope.
What about display window builds?
Yes — window display platforms, backdrop walls, integrated lighting, hanging systems. We’ll coordinate with your visual merchandiser if you have one. Done overnight to avoid impacting daytime traffic.
Do you do retail-specific lighting?
Yes — retail lighting matters. Track lighting, accent spots, colour-accurate fixtures for apparel display. Coordinated with ESA-licensed electrician for proper circuiting. We’ll quote different lighting tiers in our proposal.
