Common Questions

Are you actually licensed plumbers?
Yes — we have Ontario-licensed plumbers on our team. For any plumbing work behind walls, at the water heater, on gas lines, or that requires a permit, the work is done by our licensed plumber. We can show you the licence on request.
What's the difference between a handyman and a licensed plumber?
Handyman scope: surface-level fixture swaps (faucets, toilets, shower heads) using existing rough-ins. Licensed plumber scope: anything inside walls, water heater work, gas connections, new rough-in plumbing, anything requiring a permit. We have both teams so we handle the right work the right way.
How fast can you get to an active leak?
For active leaks during business hours (Mon-Sat 8 AM-8 PM), same-day or within 2-4 hours in most cases. For after-hours emergencies, see our note about Toronto Water (311) for immediate water shut-off — we’ll come first thing in the morning.
Do you do toilet replacements?
Yes. Full replacement ~$220-$340 labour (customer supplies new toilet, ~$200-$600 for the unit). Includes wax ring replacement, flange repair if needed, supply line replacement, and proper levelling. Old toilet hauled away if you want.
Can you fix a clogged drain?
Yes — mechanical snake first for most blockages (no harsh chemicals). For deeper blockages or recurring problems, we hydro-jet (high-pressure water) which clears tree roots, grease buildup, and biofilm. Camera inspection available for diagnosis.
Do you replace water heaters?
Yes. Tank-style: ~$1,400-$2,000 including unit, install, permit, and code-compliant venting. Tankless: ~$3,000-$5,000 depending on size and gas/electric. Permits and inspections handled. Gas-connected heaters require our TSSA-licensed gas tech.
What if I have a slab leak (under concrete floor)?
Slab leaks are diagnosed with acoustic detection or thermal imaging. Repair options: (a) cut concrete, repair pipe, patch (most direct); (b) reroute the line through walls/ceiling to bypass the slab; (c) full re-pipe of affected section. Quoted custom after diagnosis.
Will you fix frozen pipes?
Yes — common in Toronto winters. If pipe burst: shut water, locate damage, replace damaged section. If frozen but not burst: safely thaw, check for hairline cracks. We can also install pipe insulation and heat tape to prevent future freezes.
Do you do gas line work?
Yes — with our TSSA-licensed gas technician. Gas appliance hook-ups, gas line extensions, leak testing. Required by law: any gas work in Ontario must be done by TSSA-licensed personnel. Don’t hire anyone for gas work who can’t produce a TSSA card.
Can you snake my main sewer line?
Yes — mainline cleaning with a heavy-duty drain auger or hydro-jet. Camera inspection recommended to identify cause (tree roots, broken pipe, grease). For severely damaged sewer lines we coordinate with sewer specialists for trenchless repair.
